DIY Shed Ramps - Steep Secrets of Safe Shed Ramps!

!±8± DIY Shed Ramps - Steep Secrets of Safe Shed Ramps!

Are you wondering if you need some of those DIY shed ramps?

I totally understand because the biggest problem you run into after you have your shed built is trying to get your lawn mowers and other heavy garden equipment into the shed without straining your back.

But I have some seriously good news for you...and it is this;

I am going to tell you a secret how to build your shed ramp so that it is totally safe for you to use!

And get this - if you follow my specs and build it correctly you will be able to get just about any type of garden equipment up the ramp saving not only your back but your knees too!

So this is good news for you and I - especially when you consider that an incorrectly built ramp can be as dangerous and as slippery as ice that could cause some very serious injuries!

I want to think about this - if a ramp was built with the wrong slope and the wood used to build the ramp had a thin build up of algae (which is quite common) and the ramp got wet; your lawn tractor could slide off and over the edge causing a serious injury.

So how should we build this ramp?

What is the secret slope? It is this;

Steep Secrets of Safe Shed Ramps

1 - As a minimum you should build your ramp framing with 4 x 4's pressure treated and set no more than 12" apart.

2 - You should use ¾" pressure treated plywood for the surface of your ramp.

3 - The plywood should be covered with real rubber to prevent slipping when the ramp gets wet.

4 - The perfect slope to your ramp should have an exact incline of 3" per vertical foot.

Warning: If your ramp isn't built to these specs, it will never hold a 200 lb. man on a 400 lb. tractor. If your ramp isn't built to these specs and the slope is too steep, a tractor with a belly blade will get hung up and won't make it through the entrance.
